Forever Phooey Takes The Beldame for Younger Generation

The Beldame – Grade II
1 1/8 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $225.000 Filly & Mare 3 Year Olds And Up.

1st Forever Phooey Party Night Rider Stables Alvarado J

This stable has never been afraid to throw a horse in a race and not give up on them. Three stakes efforts before this didn’t get a win but today in taking on older horses she got the weight breaks and she also found herself in the perfect gate so it proved to be fourth time lucky.
Tactics can so often be the key and with the ability at HRP to use instructions to change a horses running style it can take time to get it right. After leading all the way and just being tipped off in an allowance over this trip last time the trainer settled their entry back further today and the tactics paid off. Winning in pretty much the same time she was beaten in last time she looked strong to the line today.
This is another excellent claim from the stable who just the other day was saying they were going through a lean streak. It just goes to show that sticking at it is the way to go, it is not how you deal with the winners but how you cope with the losers.

2nd Grand Cyclone Maxmillion Farm Carmouche K

Whilst so many trainers take so much time in finding the exact best distance for their horse to win at, spend months testing tactics and surfaces, this horse is a shining example of you just have to be good to be competitive in any race. This season she has run in turf sprints, dirt sprints, a ten furlong stamina sapping wet track race and now a fast track nine furlong race and in all of them has performed with a consistency which defies belief.
I cannot imagine how good she will end up if ever finding her perfect set of race conditions but her trainer who is known to pull of remarkable training feats has perhaps found a different way of finding success with her.
Going to the front from the gate i kept waiting and waiting for her to weaken but she kept on resolutely and even looked like holding on at one point. Where she will go next is anyones guess!

3rd Kalaeloa Smokey Stover Franco M

She started the odds on favorite for a stable that has had huge success this year and after a very nice mile work recently looked set up for a big run. Settling back off the first two it looked like she had everything under control but when the whips came out she just couldn’t quicken up and toiled away in a one paced third. She is obviously a difficult filly to get right but there is ability there it is just a matter of finding the key to getting her to go through with her races at the end.

4th Spicy Poke Estero Farms Saez L

Stalked the lead but her iffy stamina let out in the end and she faded into fourth. With her weakness at the end of her races this year i am sure she is causing her trainer a few head aches.
