Four NM Breds Line Up in The Dominguez Memorial Handicap

The Dominguez Memorial Handicap – NG
2/23/20
SUN Race 5 1 1/16M – Dirt
Purse $100.000
Four Year Olds and Up NM Breds

Only four runners will go to the post here and three of them will be coming from the barn of myself and one will be coming from the Greeko Holdem barn. Even though there is only four runners it looks to be a competitive race. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. Timber Rattler (20-5-3-3 $259.330), trained by T Boy Racing

First runner for me in the field here and he is a very good sprinter when he runs his best but he kind of untested around two turns. If he can sit off the pace a little unlike last time he will run a big race I think. He could win this if he runs his best.

2. I Aint Scared (26-4-9-2 $289.890), trained by T Boy Racing

A fast closing second in this race last year and he should have gotten up that day. He has not ran all that well in his last few but he is really the only one in here who has proven he can go the route of ground. He looks to be my best at this distance.

3. Love Me Gran (15-4-2-5 $126.200), trained by T Boy Racing

Final runner in here for me and he is only in here to make sure the race would run. I definitely do not think that he can distance but if they go super slow on the front he could be able to hang around. I do not expect him to run well but he could surprise me.

4. Torque Converter (10-2-3-1 $146.400), trained by Greeko Holdem

Last runner in the field here and he is definitely the best looking sprinter in this field but he is also not proven at this distance. His only start around two turns was way back in a maiden race where ran fourth. If he handles it he may be the one to beat.

Summary

Even though it is a four horse field it is a pretty tough race with three stakes winners in the field. A very cautious top pick for me is I Aint Scared only because he had won a stakes race over a mile. Good luck to me and Greeko Holdem in this race.
