Two Year Olds Fillies

A field of twelve two year old fillies has been entered up for this year’s grade one Chandelier Stakes here at Santa Anita. They will all be vying for a grade one win and free spot in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. Minnesota No Show (4-1-2-0 $77.000), trained by Greeko Holdem

The first filly we come across in the field and she is coming into this race off of two seconds in stakes races. One was an open stake at Belterra and the other one was against Canadian breds at Woodbine. She will need to improve a lot though and be able to handle the distance.

2. Interpoint (4-1-2-0 $107.600), trained by Night Rider Stables

Next filly in the field right here is coming into this race off of a narrow defeat in the grade one Spinaway. She was also second in a stakes race at Woodbine earlier this year and fourth in the grade two Adirondack. If she can handle the distance she will be very tough.

3. Serious Speed (4-2-1-0 $127.000), trained by Threshold

And now to this filly who is coming into this race off of a sixth place finish in a Canadian bred stakes race at Woodbine. She did win against Canadian breds in her start before that in a stakes race but that was sprinting. She will need to run a huge race to have a shot in here.

4. Niagra Beauty (3-2-1-0 $64.000), trained by Allinthegate

The next filly in the field right here and she is coming into this race off of a win against first level allowance runners at Saratoga. She has won two starts in a row but this is a huge step up in company and she will have to get the distance to have a shot.

5. Dublin Style (4-1-1-1 $99.000), trained by D J C Racing Stables

This next filly is one who looks like a runner who is begging for the extra distance that she is getting in here. She has been closing late in her last two starts which were both graded stakes. I think the distance will help her quite a bit and she will run good if it does help.

6. Relax (4-4-0-0 $399.000), trained by Mb Stables

One of two undefeated fillies in this field but this filly is already a two time graded stakes winner. She won the grade two Sorrento and the grade one Del Mar Debutante in her last two starts. If she handles the distance she is definitely the one to beat.

7. Precise Performance (3-2-0-1 $99.200), trained by Mb Stables

The second runner for Mb Stables right here and this filly is coming into this race off of a stakes win at Del Mar in a California bred stakes race. She ran a big race in there but the distance is a little suspect after she kind of faded late that day. She will have to run a big race.

8. Vegas Show Hen (3-3-0-0 $164.100), trained by Our Athletes

The other undefeated filly in the field right here and she is coming into this race off of a win in the FL Sire Stakes Susan against Florida breds. She is undefeated but this is a big step up in class and she will have to be able to handle the distance also.

9. One Piece At A Time (3-2-0-0 $70.200), trained by Team 7 Illusions

This next filly will be making a return to races with fillies after two races in a row with the boys. She did win a first level allowance against them and then ran a good sixth in the grade three Sanford. She should benefit the return to a filly race and she has a shot I think.

10. Skygrazer (3-1-1-0 $57.800), trained by Rampage Stable

Here is a filly who is coming out of the grade two Sorrento Stakes where she ran a very good second to one of the undefeated fillies in here. She was closing late that day and was beaten very narrowly. She should like the distance and she has a good chance to win it.

11. Miss Tallmadge (5-2-0-2 $199.000), trained by John Henry

This filly right here is coming out of the grade one Spinaway and she ran a very good third in there. She will be making her first start for John Henry as he bought after that last start. If she appreciates the distance I think she will have a big shot in here.

12. Lady Zigmund (4-1-1-2 $65.200), trained by La Canada Racehorses

Scratched

13. Steady Acquaintance (3-1-1-1 $37.200), trained by Nakamura Stables

The final filly in the field right here and she is coming off of a maiden breaking score against California breds at Golden Gate. One thing she has over ever other runner in this field is a race around two turns which she won. It will be very tough from this lost though.

Summary

A very good field for this race no doubt and there are some very talented fillies in here. I have to go with Relax off of the two graded stakes wins in a row and she has done nothing wrong yet. Good luck to all that are in the field.
