Gdp Inc Enjoys Sunday Brunch, Detained Takes The Haynesfield at AQU

3/21/21

 1  AQU     The Haynesfield
       $100.000        4yo&Up Foaled In NY       1m  Dirt       123lbs +penalties

Our handicapping did you no good in this one as the longshots lined-up and got home first in The Haynesfield for NY-breds.  Detained, sent off at 13/1 and trained by Gdp Inc, stayed just in behind the early pace, and out gamed Night Mare Racings’ Savage for the win.  Only a half length separated the top pair, as the winner covered the flat mile in 1:34.51 on the fast AQU main track.  Di Draggni was another length back in third, with the Good Doctor fourth.

Detained is a 5yo gray altered son of Arrest – Baby Baby Baby, by Risen Ruler, and he was bred by D J C Racing Stable, here in NY.  Claimed for $25.000 back in Feb of last year, this was the first win since that hostile takeover, his fifth lifetime win, and he now shows career earnings of $166.430.

Detained tracked in behind the pace, moved forward down the lane in determined fashion, up late, won driving.  Savage tracked the pace throughout, game effort while unable to hold off winner late.  Di Dragoni showed good speed throughout, evenly in the latter stages.  The Good Doctor broke mid-pack, lost ground rating back near the rear, best foot too late.  Local Dude one pace, no factor.  Main Stage broke alertly, set the pace to the lane, headed, folded.  The Good Son flashed early speed just in behind the pace, tired.  Graytest Crack was outrun.  Im Bru away slow, outrun.
