General Flecha Looks for Five-in-a-Row

Raven Run – Grade II
KEE   Race #1   7f   Dirt   Graded Stake
Purse $250.000  For Fillies Three Years Old.

1 Phun Stick, trained by Axeman
Broke her maiden in April but failed when taking on better grade and was brought back to Allowance level in June to get some experience and confidence. She duly hacked up in that race and then went on to take the Seaway Stakes from a tricky draw. She trapped a little wide in the CT Oaks so there were excuses for her seventh place but she still has a bit to find with the winner that day, General Flecha. This better draw will certainly suit and i like her chances of a top three finish.

2 Black Sunshine, trained by John Henry
A daughter of the much vaunted Commanding she has won three from six and ran pretty well in the grade one Cotillion last time to be fifth. She won the Fury Stakes over this trip so should be happy with that and is working well enough to give her sire yet another black type purse.

3 General Flecha, trained by Mb Stables
The form horse after four wins in a row she was pretty game in the CT Oaks last time, making all and never giving it up. Like all the horses from this stable her works are strong and she must have a winning chance.

4 Threat, trained by D J C Racing Stables
Three lengths behind General Flecha in the CT Oaks when sixth last time she is another who will be right in it. Like Phun Stick she has a bit to find with General Flecha but when you consider she was second in the BC Juvenile last year you have to respect that class factor.

5 Roxy Lisa, trained by Canadian Racing
A winner of five from nine she was ticking along nicely until the wide gate speed push ruined her record in the Princess Rooney Handicap. Shot to the lead in a time that was never going to see her finish the race she weakened lat into sixth. Prior to that she has been improving nicely taking the Lady Angela Stakes over this trip so whilst she doesnt look a winning chance she should get close enough and may grab some place money.

6 Oyster Puff, trained by Mb Stables
Drawn wide her owner may use the outside speed push to set her to the lead but she hasnt shown much early pace in her races before this so the option may not be a good one. A solid winner in overnight company last time she hadnt managed a win in black type before that but does have the work times to be competitive.

SUMMARY
This may be between the CT Oaks winner General Flecha and Black Sunshine with Mb Stables coming out a winner whatever happens.
