Gila Bend Wins San Juan Capistrano Stakes

Gila Bend ran on from eight lengths off the pace to take the lead going on to win The San Juan Capistrano Stakes by three lengths from  Turon Warrior with A Dollar For A Bongo a further two lengths back in third.

Gila Bend wins The San Juan Capistrano Stakes starting near of the field eight lengths off the pace then ran on very strongly taking up the lead and draw away for a three lengths success from Turon Warrior with A Dollar For A Bongo a further two lengths back in third. The winner is owned by Barcelona Farms.

How they ran.

Gila Bend started and raced near the rear of the field then ran n strongly from eight lengths off the pace going on to win by three lengths.

Turon Warrior settled near the rear then ran on strongly to finish second.

A Dollar For A Bongo settled and raced in seventh another that also ran on strongly to finish third.

Dogs Silver Stacker close up early racing in second then took up the lead going a length clear of the field passed by the strong finishers to drop back and finish fourth.

Consus started and raced at the back of the field ran on but no better than his finishing place of fifth.

Stormy Kg lead the field by a length for the first six furlongs then just went backwards to finish sixth.

Grey Lion close up early racing in third then just went backwards to finish seventh.

Drama Factory mid pack early ten weakened to finish eighth.

The Machine stalked the leaders in fourth early then weakened to finish ninth.

Julius Erving mid pack early in fifth five lengths off the pace then weakened to finish last of the ten runners beaten by the winner by twenty three lengths.
