Give Your All Gives More In Vosburgh

October 2, 2016

Give Your All was the winner of the Grade I Kings Bishop in his last start and one of only three entrants in the Grade I Vosburgh coming in off a victory, and came away with a second straight top class score in what has become a very good season for the son of La Briganderie. Perfectly built up for a late season campaign by owner Mb Stables, he now has seven wins in ten career starts and more than $800.000 in earnings, with a spot in the BC assured but the race still to be determined.

A massive field of sprinters raced into the far turn at BEL in the Vosburgh and outside starters Reel Steal (4.65) and Global Warning (15.05) had to use their energy to get involved while Baffle (18.45) and Crush Alvar (47.45) ran forward from their inside gates. Those four moved to the front with Hold My Steel (8.50) along the fence and Snowmizer (17.30) in fifth and as Reel Steal raced to the lead through a quarter-mile in 22.25, the field was surprisingly stretched out with almost nine-lengths first to last. Positioned remained unchanged around the sweeping BEL turns as the leader stretched his advantage to almost a length and while Global Warning moved up through a wicked half-mile in 44.77, the stalkers and backfield were starting to get into motion. The field lined up eight-wide with a furlong to run as Reel Steal faced the huge pressure of holding onto the lead and while Hold My Steel came calling, it was Give Your All (*4.65) who rocketed through rivals and ran away from his foes to score by a length, with Aqua Dulce (7.70) following him to finish second from Hold My Steel in third and a closing Captain Rush (8.15) in fourth. Snowmizer was wide with Baffle while Reel Steal faded to midpack with Global Warning as the rest of the field including Nefarious Leadership (8.65), Trench Admiral (7.10), Noble Mou (11.50) and Crush Alvar faded from contention late

The question with Give Your All in the Grade I Vosburgh was whether the six-furlong distance would be too short for his talents but he silenced all the critics with a huge late run, catapulting himself into championship contention in a number of divisions. He has enough points to qualify for both the BC Sprint and the BC Dirt Mile and will have to decide amongst both, giving his owner a bevy of options with the Sprint the most likely, since he has already has a guaranteed spot.

Congratulations goes out to owner Mb Stables and their three-year-old gelding Give Your All, a rocketing winner of the Grade I Vosburgh at BEL!
