Four Years Olds and Up Fillies and Mares
Here we have a field of eight fillies and mares that are going to be going to the post for this years Bayakoa over this Oaklawn Park oval. There is some very nice fillies that have been entered into this race. All the races at Oaklawn are quality fields on this day and this one is no exception. Let’s take a look at the field.
1. Enoughs Enough (12-6-0-0 $1144.400), trained by Mb Stables
Here we are with our first runner in the field and she is also the first of two entries from Mb Stables. She is a multiple grade one winner in her career and she is definitely a very nice filly. Her last start was a fourth place effort in the grade three La Canada where she only beat one. She is capable of winning if she runs her race.
2. So True (8-4-2-0 $93.510), trained by Mb Stables
And now to the other Mb Stables runner as the two stablemates are going to be right next to each other in the gate. This filly right here is on a two race win streak and her last win was a dominant win because she beat her rivals by four lengths in an allowance race at Sunland. She looks like a runner on the improve but she will have to prove she can handle these.
3. The Reaper (38-11-6-6 $2730.150), trained by John Henry
Now an old classy mare right here for sure as she has ran more times than any other runner in this race. She is a multiple grade one winner also and a one time Breeders Cup and a Kentucky Oaks winner. Now I don’t think she is as the same horse as she was four or five years ago but she still is capable of running a big one.
4. Ineffable (21-3-7-7 $319.930), trained by TwinTowers Racing
To the next runner in the field right here and this mare has never been able to win a stake or graded stakes race but she has placed in many of them. She has actually ran top three in five straight stakes races so she is bound to win one of them eventually and maybe this could be the race.
5. Ivanka (13-4-2-0 $393.200), trained by Winning Link Stables
Here we have another graded stakes winner in the field and this filly has also participated in some of the best races for fillies and mares. She hasn’t been very lucky unfortunately when she has had to face the very best. I don’t see her winning but maybe third or fourth if she runs really good.
6. Snakie Pleasure (4-1-1-0 $38.800), trained by Maxmillion Farm
Well right here is definitely the least accomplished in the field. She only broke her maiden in her last start at Gulfstream Park. Now she did win that against winners in an allowance race. But this is a huge step up in class and it is also going to be her first start around two turn in over a year. The odds are stacked against her big time.
7. Lake Wendigo (13-5-4-3 $1272.800), trained by Night Rider Stables
Once again we come across another grade one winner in this quality field of runners. This filly here is very accomplished and won the grade one Alabama last summer by three lengths in the slop. She will be making her first start of the year so her fitness is a slight question going into this race.
8. Goosebumps (11-3-4-1 $223.600), trained by Smokey Stover
And last but not least we come this runner that is on the outside. She has also faced some of the best but she has not been very successful either. She did crush an optional claimer at Golden Gate in her last start which was probably a prep for this race so she comes into this race in good form.
Summary
A very nice and competitive field right here for sure and I think you could make a good case for a couple of them. I think that Enoughs Enough and Lake Wendigo look like the toughest two runners in this race and they should be the top two in here. Good luck to all in the field.
