Two Year Olds NY Breds Fillies

A big field has been assembled right here for this two year old filly New York bred stakes race at Belmont and its just one entry short of a full field. There is some pretty good fillies in this field and it definitely looks like a pretty good race. It’s a big field so it’ll be a good race for sure. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. Realize (3-1-0-1 $15.940), trained by Mo Mentum Farm

This filly here is going to be making her first start for her new trainer Mo Mentum Farm because He bought her in the last auction for fourteen dollars and one cent. She broke her maiden at first asking and then ran a third and last out ran a sixth. It’s her first out this distance so not sure how she’ll like it.

2. Sound Logic (3-2-0-0 $97.200), trained by Sccj Stables

Now here we have a stakes winner and she won a stakes race at Woodbine in July. She didn’t run any good in the grade two Adirondack where she ran ninth beaten five lengths but she is definitely getting some class relief in this spot. If she runs like her stakes win she has a pretty good chance to win.

3. Cardi B (3-1-1-1 $51.400), trained by Gdp Inc

Now here is a filly who is tested and proven at the distance already because she won a maiden special weight last out going a mile here at Belmont. She won going away by two lengths and win pretty easy for sure. I think if she runs like she did that day she could be pretty live to win this race.

4. Appealing Ginger (5-1-1-1 $25.240), trained by The Sidley Stud

Another one who is also proven at a route of ground and she broke her maiden last out by four lengths at Finger Lakes in a New York bred maiden special weight going a mile and seventy yards. Now this is a very big step up in class and she is definitely going to have to run the race of her career to win.

5. Navette (6-1-2-0 $50.380), trained by Fractious

Now here we have the most heavily raced filly in the field with six starts in her career and half of those starts have been in stakes races. She is coming into this race off of an eighth place finish in the grade two Pocahontas. I don’t think she is a big fan of the route of ground honestly though.

6. Ghost Dance (4-1-1-1 $77.800), trained by Team 7 Illusions

This filly right here won at first asking and has been in statebred stakes races ever since that day. She hasn’t done too bad really though with a second and a third in two of those stakes but the only question I have with her is that extra distance. I’m not sure if she will like the route of ground.

7. Easier Said (1-1-0-0 $9.080), trained by Mb Stables

Now here is a filly who is undefeated in her only career start but that was five furlongs on the turf in a four horse field at Louisiana Downs. But Mb Stables always enters horses who I’m not sure have much of a chance and then they go ahead and win. So I don’t really like her but I have to respect her.

8. Summertime (3-1-0-2 $26.300), trained by D J C Racing Stables

Well there is no question that the wizard D J C Racing Stables would have at least one entry in this race and this filly is coming in here off of a maiden breaking score here at Belmont in a New York bred maiden special weight going seven furlongs. I think this extra distance will help her out even more.

9. Hollywood Sister (4-0-0-2 $16.960), trained by Estero Farms

Now at first glance I though why in the world in this horse entered in here but then I looked down at her works and I saw a very good mile work and that’s when I figured it out. She hasn’t been able to win but I think that’s because she hasn’t been able to get over a route of ground yet.

10. Shirogane (2-1-0-1 $18.120), trained by Smokey Stover

A lightly raced filly right here as she won her first start way back in April and then wasn’t seen in a race until last month when she ran second in allowance at Golden Gate around two turns. I think she definitely improves off of that race because it was off of a layoff and I think she’ll be tough in here.

11. Vamparina (2-1-0-1 $39.790), trained by Aer Stables

Tough draws for Aer Stables in the two year old stakes because he drew the outside in both races. This filly is coming off of a win in a New York bred maiden special weight here at Belmont going seven furlongs on the turf. If she likes the dirt and the extra furlong I think she has a decent chance.

Summary

Well I definitely think this a very good race and there are definitely some nice fillies in this race but I’m not sure who to go with as my top pick. I actually think I’ll go with the maiden Hollywood Sister because of that mile work she threw down. Good luck to everyone in this race.
