Gorogue Laga Too Tough In The Victoria

Victoria Stakes
5 1/2 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $125.000 Open 2 Year Olds.

1st Gorogue Laga Arindel Bridgmohan S X

Worked hard from the gate to get on speed but it was that start that sealed the deal and this gelding always had too much ammo for the rest. Two big wins puts this one in the running for BC glory and is another big win for the breeder Lagastable who sold this one pre race for $150.

2nd Indian Summer Diablo Diablo Boulanger G

Used the wide gate speed push to get to the front but never really cleared the field and was up against it for the whole race. He actually did really well to keep on gamely for second and given a better draw he could give the winner some trouble next time they meet. Bred by the owner and out of Cherokee Sunset he is still an entire and may well be one of the best the stable has owned for a couple of years.

3rd Stake The Claim Nakamura Stables Ryan S

Got a decent position early on but got a little bit buried from the one gate. He tried hard but was well beaten in the end and whilst you could offer an excuse good horses make their own luck and he could’t do that against the first two. having said that he looks more of a router type than a sprinter so he may have the most scope when upped in trip.

4th Mediterranean Sea Mo Mentum Farm Husbands P

Did well enough in fourth but like the third placed horses never looked like reaching the first two in a speed dominated contest. The trainer is riding a wave at the moment and wont be too disappointed with a promising effort.
