A small field of only five here for this years running of the Grable Stakes here at Del Mar for California bred filly and mare sprinters. It is a small field but there is some good runners in here so let’s go ahead and take a look at the field for this race.

1. Diamond Heart (8-3-1-1 $94.340), trained by Onlineracingclub.com
First runner we take a look at here in the field is coming into this race off of a third place finish in statebred optional claiming company on the turf. Her only stakes start on the dirt was a second place finish. I think she likes the distance and surface more than what she has been running in.
2. Saarinen (5-1-1-2 $5.700), trained by Drabfantasy

Next runner in the field here looks very much outmatched in here just looking at her past races but Drabfantasy is a very good trained and he wins a lot of races so I am skeptical of her chances. She doesn’t look to fit in here to me so I don’t see her running well.

3. Miz Evil Five Phooey (28-8-9-4 $350.700), trained by Ace Racing Stable

Next filly in the field is definitely the most experienced runner in the race here with almost thirty career starts. She is coming in here off of a seventh place finish in a stakes race on the turf but noe she switches back to the dirt. She handles the surface just fine but not sure how she will run.

4. Off The Table (13-5-6-1 $80.500), trained by Night Mare Racing

Now to take a look at the filly and she is coming into this race off of a stakes win at Turf Paradise in the Princess Of Palms Stakes. She ran a very good race that day and if she can repeat that type of race in this one I think she will be very tough to beat.

5. Furious Moment (14-6-2-1 $99.790), trained by Arindel

Final runner we come across in the field here and she is coming into this race off of a third place finish in starter allowance company at Santa Anita. She ran good that day but this is a jump up in class but I do think that she has good chance in here.

Summary

Well it might not be the strongest race ever but I think that all of the runners in this field are pretty evenly matched at least. My top pick is going to be Off The Table coming off of that stakes win in her last start. Good luck to all in the field.
