5 SA Las Flores Stakes (GIII)

It’s been raining in SoCal, although that means nothing here, and we look at the field of nine set to sprint six panels in the Las Flores Stakes (GIII). It’s a very interesting field with some VERY potent ladies that have been off the board, along with some up-and-coming types, and that always makes for a fun race.
The Green Card is going with a horse that comes into this with a four-race win streak from a barn that has been here for quite some time but really doesn’t race a ton. Smokin Mumma looks like a horse that is on her toes and isn’t letting anything stop her from getting her picture taken.
Old Mexico is no stranger to graded races and threw a bad race on BC Day, but let’s see if she can bounce back from that and put in a good one here. She’s been more of a distance horse, and ran poorly at SAR while sprinting, but I’m not questioning the Card, especially has hot as they’ve been of late.
Ignore Tucker is another that fits that envelope of throwing a few less than stellar races of late, and also backs up in distance, looking to regain form. She hasn’t won since last March but has been on the board vs. some very nice horses, so her class could propel her to a good finish.
