Grand Cyclone Tears Through Princess Rooney Field Like a Tornado at the Trailer Park

Max sent Grand Cyclone to the front just as expected, but unlike many front-runners we see here at HRP– Grand Cyclone pushed well out and held.

Grand Cyclone wasted no time out of the gate, shooting to a two-length lead ahead of She‘s A Super Freak, Not A Big Deal, and Dancinginflorida who were all content to settle into stalk positions behind the leader.

Copper Mama and Z Command lulled to the back of the field, six lengths off the leader with only Easily Amused behind them.

Two furlongs into the race, True Identity pressed Not A Big Deal and Dancinginflorida, moving up into third behind She’s A Super Freak who was still giving two lengths to Grand Cyclone.

As they moved into the far turn, True Identity pushed by She’s A Super Freak and was looking to make a closing move on Grand Cyclone who still held a comfortable two length cushion. Five Star Queen, Christina G, and Bay Of Indy came around in mudpack position throughout and were in position to threaten.

As we turn for home, She’s A Super Freak fought back into second and was trying to get by Grand Cyclone who was still a solid length ahead. Dancinginflorida was close behind, also getting by True Identity who slipped to fourth.

With one furlong left until the wire, Christina G made a strong move from the inside as Why You Do That was driving home from the far outside.

Dancinginflorida and She’s A Super Freak had lost eyes on the leader who was still a comfortable length ahead and began to attempt to fight off the closers, in hopes of holding onto a paycheck. Much to the bettors surprise, Z Command and Copper Mama were stagnant on the tail end and didn’t enter into any action.

Dancinginflorida was able to grind out a second place finish, by a nose to a closing Christina G who ran out of room and settled for third.

But this was Grand Cyclone’s show and she stole it. Wire to wire, she looked like the best horse in the field throughout. Congratulations to Maxmillion Farm for getting this mare into the winner circle for the first time in 2021, in a big way winning the Princess Rooney!

Grand Cyclone is a 5 year old mare by Grande Sournoise, trained by Maxmillion Farm and bred in California by Drabfantasy.
