Great Beneficiary broke alertly and turned the $200.000 Limestone Turf Sprint into a paid workout on Friday at KEE.  Getting away from stall two in the six-horse field, Great Beneficiary was quickly on a two-length lead, and, for all intents and purposes, the race was over.

The Smokey Stover-trained filly cut out a :22.52 first quarter as Cherokee Shocker and Sacred Moon gave chase as the leader approached the turn for home.  Great Beneficiary increased her advantage to three lengths as she stuck to the rail while rounding the bend, and she entered the stretch under no pressure whatsoever.

As the leader posted a :45.04 half-mile split, the field started to bunch together behind her as they were left to battle it out for the minors.  Running strongly through the wire, Great Beneficiary stopped the clock in a new stakes record time of 1:02.56.  Cherokee Shocker was able to hold off The Black Water for the place while the latter just hit the wire before Incendiary.  Completing the order of finish were Sacred Moon and Shandy.

Great Beneficiary now has five wins from ten starts and a bankroll that $285.800.  Congratulations to horse and trainer on their victory in the Limestone Turf Sprint!
