Shes So Pretty from High Voltage looks primed for an upset or at least an upset chance. “Pretty” didn’t run her race the last time she negotiated two-turns, but that was in the Breeder’s Cup when drawn in the parking lot. She hasn’t been pushed along in her training or been asked for too much in her race schedule by her new connections. After only three efforts since the purchase in November and plenty of down time, she now moves into a spot to show her best. Expect her to sit towards the back of the second flight and come calling in the lane at a square price. Jump Into Action from Diablo Diablo has rung the bell four times already and a repeat of her effort in April when running second in The Appalachian Stakes probably wins this, but with so many pace questions and a little bit of everything thrown in here, will the price be right? Mini Mulite from Mb Stables will probably be considered the lesser of the barns two starters here, but is interesting, nonetheless. Her numbers have improved in her last two efforts, albeit without winning, still a good sign. The fact that she took the lead sprinting suggests that her pilot can position her wherever the boss tells him to. She clearly has the lead if she wants it. The stables other runner, Savvy Instinct draws the rail and usually that fact alone dictates tactics, however, she has never shown the kind of speed needed to outgun her stablemate, so the top barn alone will cause many handicapper’s to second guess things here.
Of The Rest;
Ginger Gem from The Sidley Stud has numbers plenty good enough to take this but her best late move has come over a soft course. If she is sent she might have more company than she cares for. Guessing game.
Perception Plus from Spb Racing leads the pack in number of victory parties and her last dance was a pip. However, her overall competition is a touch low when speaking comparatives and the fact that she wants to go and drew the outside slot in here causes more than a little concern. To say that she will need her best effort is obvious and factual.
Defy Expectations from Aer Stables has speed to get into position, but won’t get the lead with speed drawn on both sides. With only one score in tow, she is an outsider here.
Vast from TwinTowers Racing will be a big price here and probably should be used in your exotic bets. She looks for three straight and obviously gets the acid test today. However, she has shown the ability to pass rivals late, something not displayed by several of her rivals. If she can improve again, she could surprise a little.
Lilahs Empire from Royalty Stables faces an uphill battle Saturday as she gets the acid test and also tries a new surface. Her overall form does not get the heart racing, but she does posses some speed. She will need it.
Cher Ami from Waldo picks an ominous spot to try and complete the hat trick, to say the least. It would be a shocker if she does get the job done in here.
