I really wondered how the Maxmillion Farm couple would do breaking from the inside posts… question answered. Hollywood Babe tracked the early pace, moved up at will and went under the wire first by a length, taking the KD Ladies Sprint (GIII) on the undulating turf course, that was listed as Good. The final running time for the six and a half furlongs was a quick 1:152, despite the wet going. Ace Queen closed from well off of the pace, and looked to make a horse race out of this, getting close down the lane, but couldn’t go on with the winner in the latter stages, setting for the runner up check. It was another half length to Data Overload in third, and three-quarters of a length to Lady Of Lord, the luke-warm post time favorite, in fourth. Nine lengths covered the field.
Hollywood Babe is a 3yo chestnut filly by Hollywood Freak – Search And Destroy, by Inspector Jacques, and she was bred in Cal by LionKing Stables. Maxmillion Farm purchased her prior to her racing career for $20.000, and she’s been tough as nails ever since, winning six of eight starts and pocketing $676.140 in earnings. Congrats to the Connections!
