For the 2nd year in a row, it was Immoral that claimed the G1 Forester Turf Classic. Completing the 9-furlongs on the CD turf in 1:45.35, Immoral took home the lion’s share of the $1,000.000 purse and now has 12 wins from 27 starts with earnings of an incredible $5,586.290.
Hustled from the gate by J. Rocco Jr, Immoral disputed the early pace with Key Biscayne. Rocco‘s hard work allowed Immoral to reach the rail and he was just a half-length off of the lead as Key Biscayne posted an opening half-mile in :46.85. Key Biscayne and Immoral held their respective positions as the former posted a six-furlong split of 1:09.90 as they led the field into the final bend.
Immoral grabbed the lead outside the furlong marker and quickly put a length between himself and his nearest competitor as he posted a 1:33.48 split for the mile. Immoral was still well clear with a sixteenth to go; however, Nevada Silver was beginning a bold, late rally on the leader’s inside as Night Creature was trying to quicken on his outside. Immoral kept both of them at bay as he crossed the wire in a final time of 1:45.35 to complete the G1 Forester repeat.
Nevada Silver just got by Night Creature for the place honors while Lets Do It Big Boy finished a nose in front of Inbred for fourth. Jolly Rook, Hollywood Hero, Outcross, and Hawaiian Lord completed the order of finish.
