Three Year Old and Up Fillies and Mares

1st Indian River Queen, trained by South Beach Racing

A huge win and now a free spot in the Breeders Cup Filly and Mare Sprint for this filly. She ran a huge race to get up and win by a head. She sat right behind the leaders early and then grinded out the win down the lane. She ran the distance in 1:21.60 and earned $150.000 for the win.

2nd Steel Calling, trained by Mb Stables

This filly ran huge race in defeat and I would definitely say she pretty much ran a winning race. She sat right behind the leaders early also and then looked like she might be a winner for second until she got edged right before the wire. She ran a very huge runner up finish.

3rd Too Much Wisdom, trained by Mb Stables

The other Mb Stables runner here ran a good closing third in here and she was only beaten by a neck. She was in about the middle of the field early on and then came hard late but just could not get up in time. She ran a very good race to get up for third.

4th Thalassa, trained by Maxmillion Farm

A big run from this filly here as she tried to take them wire to wire and she led them for most of the way until that last eighth of a mile. She was out in front and going strong and for a second I thought she might pull it off. A very good run for trying to go wire to wire.

Summary

A very close and exciting race here as only a neck separated the top three runners. Indian River Queen had to hold off the Mb Stables duo and she ran a huge race to do that. She earned a free spot in the Breeders Cup Filly and Mare Sprint with the win. Congratulations to Indian River Queen and South Beach Racing.
