It Looks Like It May Be Mb’s Colors in Colors

Colors – Grade III
CD Race #7 6f Dirt Graded Stake
Purse $100.000 For Fillies And Mares Three Years Old And Upward.

1 Mucho Gracias Rampage Stable Geroux F

This consistent filly has a real good race record winning five from nine and collecting a pay check in every race apart from her debut. With two ungraded stakes wins to her name she looks ready to step up to this grade my only fear being that from this inside draw and with a lack of early pace she may get a little trapped early on.

2 Unprecedented South Beach Racing Bridgmohan S X

With just the one win and that being in a maiden claimer it was somewhat surprising to see her sold for $80.000 in April. Her work times had been solid though and in her first start for the new owner she was only beaten a half length in the grade two Eight Bells when a closing fourth. She is another who lacks a bit of early pace over this trip but the two draw will help and if she can repeat her last effort she will be right in this.

3 Sunsweet Team 7 Illusions Santana R

There’s nearly always a daughter of Cherokee Sunset in these races and sure enough she has one here who as usual has a good chance of winning. Being a four year old she has to give weight to the three’s and as we have seen that can be very tough especially as her work and race times are not six pounds better than her younger rivals. Her best career start was when a close third in the grade two Raven Run last year and she has done enough this year to suggest she hasnt gone backwards from that.

4 Blazing By Mb Stables Lanerie C J

Without a doubt the most accomplished filly in the field. She has five wins including a grade one and a grade three and has been grade one placed this year and a grade three winner. In the lead at this trip in the Eight Belles last time she floundered in the wet ground and ended up third but that was still in front of her main rival today. If this was a real life race she would be long odds on favorite.

5 Fifi Trixiebell First Street Stables Court J K

Remained a maiden at two and didnt break through until March of this year when she took a little maiden at TAM. That win seemed to ignite her winning will as she won her very next race too taking the Star Shoots at ungraded level last time out. She is in good form but i am not sure it is good enough for this level just yet.

6 Two Grins Estero Farms Gaffalione

These next two look the dangers to Blazing By especially this one who gets the six pounds for being a three year old. She hasnt won since sprinting as a two year old but she has spent the first half of the year chasing the longer races so this return to sprinting may be the answer to her getting back to winning ways. She was behind Blazing By in the Forward Gal and then close up in both the Santa Ysabel Stakes and Beaumont when second and third. She looks a banker for the Exacta and it may pay to box it as this is HRP after all.

7 Cocoa Nut Team 7 Illusions Beschizza A

The winner of last years Raven Run she ran very well in the BC Sprint as well and would be a danger but for two things. Firstly she is four so has to give weight away and second she is drawn wide. Those two factors make it look like she will be battling for third with her stable companion.

SUMMARY

This looks so obvious its almost too obvious. Blazing By to beat Two Grins and then throw the field in for third .
