It’s a Zareta Rematch in TTA Sales Futurity- Fillies

TTA Sales Futurity- Fillies ($100.000 Purse)
LS- For Fillies Two Years Old Foaled In TX
Five And A Half Furlongs on the Dirt
July 10, 2021

We’ll have a couple interesting two year old races down at LS this weekend, and here we will look at the fillies that run in the TTA Sales Futurity event. In many ways, we can call this a rematch of the top fillies that ran here last month in the Zareta, a race with similar conditions. The top three from that race, plus the top two from a maiden race that ran the preceding day are going head to head again. This will be the 15th time that the race has been run, and was won by Debra G, for Gustafson Stable, last year in a four horse field between two trainers. I expect a more competitive race this year. Let’s take a look!

#1- Ginger Angel (The Sidley Stud, ridden by R A Vazquez)- Broke her maiden last month while earning the same SRF that the Zareta would get the next day, so this is a logical spot for her to end up off of that. She is by Ginger Influence, who could be an interesting sire to watch, and one this trainer would love to develop into a great one.

#2- Lil Rebel (Luz International, ridden by R Gutierrez)- She is still a maiden, though these are the types of races that can see such a horse win. Lil Rebel has already run in the TTA Sales Futurity as she was in the Zareta last month, placing third. Certainly worth giving her another shot, and we know this is a track the trainer would love to win at.

#3- Lead Me On (Broken Spoke Stable, ridden by D Cabrera)- We also saw this one in the Zareta last month, and she was narrowly ahead of Lil Rebel at the wire. She did win on debut, and went to the Zareta on just two weeks of rest. Perhaps getting more time to rest will be all it takes to get the job done here.

#4- Boozilla (Woogaloo, ridden by L S Quinonez)- One race this far, and was fifth, beaten eleven lengths. So, I’m guessing when the trainer did their first post race work they were more of a “yayzilla” following a nice bump. Hasn’t been worked publicly since then, so we are all left in suspense as to what that bump may have been.

#5- Bad Bronze Party (Martyparty, ridden by L Luzzi)- Just one start for this one two, just missing the bronze in her debut, placing fourth. That came in mid-April, so the trainer has had all kinds of time to get her ready to roll here, and that should bode well for her.

#6- Cumonfeelthenoize (Luz International, ridden by R E Eramia)- We last saw her last month, running in the same maiden race that Ginger Angel ended up winning. I’d be fine with that if it were a closer finish, but she was beaten two lengths, so not only does she have to make that up on that one, there’s everyone else, too. These are two year olds though, so anything is possible!

#7- Paris Pinnacle Party (Mb Stables, ridden by S Elliott)- Here’s the one that won the Zareta last month, and when she did, it made her a perfect two for two in her career. She won the race while pulling away, so will like that there is an additional half furlong here. Now, that win does mean she has to carry two more pounds than everyone else. Is that going to do her in here? Personally, I don’t think so.

#8- Southside Of Heaven (Broken Spoke Stables, ridden by D Sorenson)- Our fifth maiden in this race, Southside Of Heaven makes her second start after a late April debut. In that race, she was narrowly beaten, and she’ll run here with lasix and bute (as of press time). Works look much better post race, and I think she could be a spoiler here.

Prediction: 7-1-3-6
