1st Ptyrannical Arindel Alvarado F T

This one certainly had the form to win this and he certainly had the wet track form that was essential but i was worried about the car park draw but when the rains came that worry melted away. Tracking wide throughout he always looked like the best horse and when he started to make his move it really was all over for the opposition. This is his second grade one over the mile this year and he really is a horse that looked ready made for the BC Mile in November.

2nd Distant Volcano Team 7 Illusions Talamo J

Considering the three’s were only getting 3Lbs in this race this son of Distant Sunset ran a huge race to get second although like the winner he had the advantage of the wet track line in his code. To be fair he was soundly beaten but this was a great effort and he is clearly growing into a nice sprinter/miler.

3rd Casper Point Gdp Inc Pennington F

Set a fairly strong pace on the wet turf and did really well to hold on gamely for third. probably not as suited by the conditions as the first two this was a career best effort and he has come a long way since being claimed for ten bucks.

4th Buffalo G Nakamura Stables Leparoux J R

Wouldn’t have minded the wet track but i was worried about this trip being a little on the short wide and i feel that was the case as he used up some puff to get a good position early but could only whack away at the one pace down the stretch.
