1st Speightstown Nakamura Stables Elliott S

I was a little shocked at the starting price of this one because although his form didn’t look as good as some in this race there was certainly nothing much wrong with his best efforts and of course was having his first run on turf which is a well known hack for this sort of race, or at least it happens so often it feels like a hack.
In the perfect stalk throughout he won pretty simply by a length doing everything right, whether he is a true turfer will only be known in his next race though as these first time turf winners can often find they can’t match the form next up.

2nd Gimmi Gold High Voltage Saez G

What a day this stable is having today taking the DMR Handicap and then seeing this gelding they claimed for just $32 go to the front and keep on really bravely for second. Again there was nothing much in his recent form in overnights to suggest he could run this race and finish in front of the Odds on Favorite but it was a good tactical choice from the trainer and this was a good effort.

3rd Crazy Ivan Mb Stables Gutierrez Mario

The early pace was pretty strong so it didn’t seem a problem that this one went back a little and whilst he ran on pretty well he never really looked like getting to the first two in a speed dominated race.

4th Pinnacle Beauty High Voltage Rispoli U

One at the back and one at the front for the two stable runners worked out pretty well as both took home a pay check. This one chose to close and on the day it was an on pace sort of race so he had to settle for fourth.
