It’s Mb Magic Again in The Lake George

The Lake George – Grade III
1 1/16 Mile Inner Turf Stake Purse $225.00 Filly 3 Year Olds

1st        A Cautious Mating    Mb Stables                 Saez L                        1:40.35

If there is one player that understands this race engine it is Mb Stables as once again we saw one of their horses go to the front at the perfect pace to hold on by a diminishing margin.

The pace was even and the lead un-challenged and this  filly that the stable picked up for $50 after it did the same in a lowly BTP allowance for the previous owner had enough to hold on by a quarter length.

This was a fourth win and her first in a stakes race and this is a pretty good prize to take home for a first time stakes winner. Once again the GOAT of HRP shows why they remain untouchable at the very top of the tree.

2nd       Unfinished Symphony   Luz International         Luzzi L J                  1:40.44

Traveled in a good enough position but for some reason the jokey decided to rev this filly up too late and though she was taking ground off the winner all the way to the line she never looked like getting home at the right time. A grade one winning two year old she has been consistent this year without finding the winners circle but it can only be a matter of time.

3rd        John 3sixteen       TwinTowersRacing      Hernandez R M               1:40.45

A fourth start and a barnstorming finish will have encouraged the trainer to go again at this level as she got much closer to winning than she did at allowance level last time. Clearly a filly with a future this was a great step forward but only time will tell us if she can back this up.

4th        Matilda Jung              Noblepark           Rodriguez Jam                1:40.53

The odds monkeys sent her off as the odds on favorite but the race engine gave her no chance as she went too far back on just an even pace. That natural pace will have to be sorted out before she can be a serious threat at this level as the race engine does not help this type of late finishing style. Beaten less than a length though so the trainer will be encouraged to shell out the entry again next time.
