BC Dirt Mile – G1
$1,000.00 For Three Year Olds And Upward – 1 Mile – Dirt
Keeneland – October 31, 2026
My Tomorrows was something of a unicorn in the BC Dirt Mile field. An actual miler! He spent the entire season running at the one mile distance except for one run at seven furlongs in the B1 Forego. As a true miler in the race designed to crown the best miler it was fitting that the five year old Maxmillion Farm gelding ended up coming home the clear winner in this event.
Winner: My Tomorrows
Owner/Trainer: Maximillion Farm
Jockey: S.X. Bridgmohan
Breeder: Wood Duck Stables (NY) Moment In Time/Sit Down Shut Up (Grande Sournoise)
Fortunate enough to draw within the first seven gates in a race breaking right into the first turn, My Tomorrows was able to take an unhurried position towards the back of the field while others were forced to scramble. While Blacketer, pursued by Brooklyn Bash, set the pace down the backstretch, My Tomorrows was comfortable in ninth staying about three to four positions off the rail. That positioning allowed him to maneuver even wider halfway around the final turn when he began his run. With a quarter mile remaining, Bridgmohan had already swung six wide preferring a clear path over potentially having his momentum impeded. His speed appeared to carry him even further wide despite not having any traffic to navigate. At the top of the stretch he was fifth with Blacketer trying to hold on, Test The Waters making his bid and Brooklyn Bash beginning to give way. It was clear sailing ahead and My Tomorrows steamrolled home, collaring Blacketer at the sixteenth pole and widening to an authoritative one length win at the wire.
Second: Excogitator
Owner/Trainer: Family Racing
Jockey: E.J. Zayas
Breeder: Jerry Garcia Racing (Ky) Cherokee Sunset/By My Side (No Doubt About It)
Breaking from post five the Family Racing gray was placed squarely midpack just behind the main stalkers pressing the pace. He came into the final turn perfectly poised to make a winning bid. Had a clear stretch ahead as the tiring Brooklyn Bash drifted out and was set down with a furlong and a half left. He had about a half length on the eventual winner at that point and he put in a strong finish, beating all but one to the wire and nearly giving Family Racing their first BC win.
Third: Blacketer
Owner/Trainer: Serenity Stables
Jockey: F. Pennington
Breeder: Royalty Stables (NY) Hide And Seek/Vernon (Valvano)
Made the post of his early speed and took advantage of the post position four to establish himself at the front. He was immediately engaged by Brooklyn Bash who was rushed from his far outside post fourteen to try to mitigate that disadvantage as much as possible. Blacketer began to inch away after three furlongs and established himself as the solo leader that others were going to have to catch. With Brooklyn Bash still hanging on at his flank and Test The Waters beginning to make his bed and others launching from behind Blacketer came into the stretch a leader with every reason to give way and fall through the field but he carried on strongly to the wire to put up a gallant effort in third.
Fourth: Test The Waters
Owner/Trainer: Mb Stables
Jockey: J.R. Velasquez
Breeder: Mb Stables (ON) Sweet Sweat/Blue Indigo (Commanding)
Test The Waters had the perfect stalking position throughout. Was able to let others do the hard work early and had no traffic concerns sitting one spot off the rail down the backstretch. He was asked for his run coming into the stretch. He responded but was not strong enough to catch the early leader or hold off the winner. Good solid effort.
Preview Pick: My Tomorrows – Winner.
Maxmillion Farm adds a second BC Dirt Mile trophy to their case having won this race in 2022 with Gran Z. This was the first win in the race for jockey E.J. Zayas and the first as well for breeder Wood Duck Stables (NY). Congrats to all involved. My Tomorrows gains his first G1 victory with this win. He has three graded stakes wins at a mile this year and the winner’s check of $600.00 pushes his career earnings to an impressive $1,688.98.
