Izzy Loves His Return to Sprinting to Take Aristides BC

Aristides BC
6 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $125.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.

1st Izzy Mandelbaum YME Stable Van Dyke D

There’s nothing like HRP for extremes and this horse came from a 12 furlong race to a six furlong race and ran faster than all the sprinters. It is the one thing you have to ignore at HRP for the most part, the trip and the surface, because a good horse that is on song can win at any trip and on any surface as proved again today. Nicely positioned through the first part of the race he lengthened nicely off a fast pace and won by a length with something in hand. His recent works suggest this five year old found something in his improvement curve and now i guess its a matter of what he does next to find out if this was a bump or a hill.
One thing is for sure his trainer will be over the moon with their home-bred and so they should be this was a very nice win against a tough and even field.

2nd Anthony Van Dyck Nakamura Stables Garcia Mar

We know the Nak factor is worth a few lengths and once again this trainer pulled a great performance out of a horse that didn’t look as if he was going to justify last years claim. Tracking the winner he could not match its finish but stuck on well for second.

3rd Tugela Force Allinthegate Bejarano R

Went with the fast early pace and looked to have a big chance when leading at the furlong pole, the pace told however and he wobbled close home holding onto a brave third. A decent effort considering his works were a little off the first two.

4th When Your Strange Maxmillion Farm Court J K

Came from off the pace to grab fourth and was finishing well without threatening the winner. Last time out he went right up on a similar pace to weaken late for third and this time went back on that pace to run on for fourth so i think this was about where he would’ve finished regardless of tactics.
