Jakarta and Qtr Tank Of Gas came out of the gate swinging. They ran head-to-head, swapping leads more times than I can count, for the first half of the mile contest. The grays opened up almost three lengths on the rest of the field and it was beginning to look like a two-horse race. But around the turn for home, Jakarta took control and while State General launched his run from mid-pack. State General gave it his best effort, but in the end it was Jakarta by a length in near course record time.

Complete Order of Finish

1 Jakarta (Nakamura Stables) On or near the lead throughout; pulled away to win by a length.

2 State General (Mb Stables) Made a big move late but had to settle for second.

3 Qtr Tank Of Gas (Riggins Racing) Challenged the lead throughout; held on for third.

4 Iron With Ransom (Ekli Stable) Ran a consistent race to finish fourth.

5 Silver Rocket (Crocker Ggs) Never a factor.

6 Fight The Good Fight (TwinTowersRacing) Close early; faded badly.

It was the fourth win for the five-year-old son of Killmonger x Shes No Allison (Charlemagne). The victory brings Jakarta’s career earnings to $1,109.000. Congratulations to Nakamura Stables and Jakarta!
