The Herecomesthebride Stakes (Grade III)
Purse $175.000 – For Fillies Three Years Old
One Mile – InTurf
Gulfstream Park – February 28, 2026
At the top of the stretch, Jump Into Action was long gone as she made every pole a winning one in The Herecomesthebride Stakes. With rain softening the turf, conditions proved unfamiliar for a handful of fillies who had never encountered that kind of ground. This is Diablo Diablo’s second win in this stakes race and Mario Gutierrez’s first. Diablo won with Pirate Petranella back in 2020, who went on to become a multiple Grade 1 winner. He might have another one on his hands:
Winner: Jump Into Action – (Diablo Diablo, M. Gutierrez) The soft ground was not a problem for Jump Into Action, as she ran the mile in 1:38.26. Around the half mile pole, she finally cleared the field and crossed over to the rail. After saving a little bit more ground heading into the far turn, the other fillies had no chance catching her. Her owner also made a late jockey change from Joe Bravo to Mario Gutierrez, which proved to be the right move. Congratulations to the connections!
Second Place: Solar Lady – (Maxmillion Farm, A. Jimenez) For her first time going two turns, Solar Lady ran a huge race. In only her third career start she took a big step forward outrunning fillies with a lot more experience than she had. Jockey Albin Jimenez had his filly two wide, sitting right off the leaders for most of the race but was unable to catch the winner in the stretch. Solar Lady certainly is one to keep an eye on as she is just getting her career started.
Third Place: Patronize – (D J C Racing Stables, P. Lopez) Returning to the turf was a good idea for Patronize as she ran a respectable third place. Paco Lopez had her sitting mid-pack, saving all the ground on the rail. At the ⅜ pole she ran into some traffic trouble trying to find some room to run. Patronize was still boxed in heading into the stretch eventually finding room around the ⅛ pole. At that point her race was over, but she got past A Bod For Sin and Mini Mulite to get third.
Fourth Place: A Bod For Sin – (La Canada Racehorses, S X. Bridgmohan) This filly ran a decent race after taking on some State Breds in her last start. A Bod For Sin sat midpack right in front of Patronize for the entire way around the track. Mini Mulitewas directly in front of her down the backside and tried making a move at the top of the stretch. She made up a little bit of ground but ultimately wasn’t able to make up ground on the horses in front of her.
