5 KEE Bewitch (GIII)

The saddest part of spring… closing Friday at KEE. I know, I know… it’s off to Louisville and so on. But the KEE spring meet is the best part of the year until the fall meet, which seems far far away.
The Bewitch (GIII) is one of my favorite races… mile and a half on the grass, always has some great race mares in it… a hardy $350.00 purse… what’s not to like? So, could we have a replay of The Very One (GIII), where November Storm and Superface Party ended on even terms? Stable mates in a DH, ain’t that something? I’ll Put November Storm on top today… I think the distance fits her best of all, she’s in good form and I think she makes this her own race today.
I will put Superface Party in the second spot… she loves the distance, but I think the top selection might be a bit better at the marathon distance, although she did win the Astra Stakes in SoCal, at the extended route.
I’ll put Explorer in the third spot, that one fresh off of a nice win in the Orchid at the distance, down in SoFla. She also won the Clement (GIII) over that same surface/distance.
There’s a case to be made for many of these, but I’ll ride with mine and try to end the meet on a high note.
