Kevo interview with Negdog

Really pleased today to meet up with Negdog Racing over in Tampa Florida, at his base farm in Odessa. Loving the sunshine and grateful you for taking the time out to chat with me. It’s people that really make the community at HRP and random characters like yourself that greatly add to it.

Q. Firstly Apologies i actually don’t know your real name and have always called you Negdog, what is your name please?

      A. I go by the name of Paulie ‘Negdog’ Neglio aka Big Guido!

Q. Cool and pleased to finally meet you Paulie. I would ask where have you been? What have you been up to the last few years, you went MIA. Mmmm Ok… Maybe a better question is… Who let the dogs out?!

      A. Been pretty busy doing music with my son and I turned into a pro gamer doing a lot of live streaming. I used to be a radio DJ and I was a stunt man in movies when I was younger. You can find me on IMDB. Big into my online gaming and almost made the draft for the NBA 2k League.

I have also been busy collecting NFTs like virtual collectables moments. Helping my son also in the background. He is a pro wrestler and just graduated from the Malenko Academy, he has had approximately 4 matches. Check out the name Nic Swift. We got him a stable when he turned 18 DomosaurasRex, he has few horses hoping he will be back soon so we can race together. You can check him out at DomosaurusRex.com

Q. That is really cool and interesting to learn about your son being a wrestler, I will for sure check him out! Ah I get it now, that’s why you got Domosaurasrex on the T- Shirt. Nice, you clearly got a love of virtual gaming and have been doing that for some time. On that note are you ex RC or Digiturf?  How did you hear about HRP?

           A. Originally? I was on the jack’s ticker, it was the tip sheet from Tampa Bay Downs, they had a little ad in the back. It was Digi turf, I won some big race but could not get my funds withdrawn off them. Then I was on the web site Bodog, called Cananda, in the States it’s Bovada now.  I think at the time betting on football and we saw a virtual horse race and I said remember that time I won a race and got ###### on the payment! So, we went and bet a couple bucks on a horse and we won like $100. Then started googling virtual horse sites and that’s how I found HRP. That was with Irishman Stables, he is a friend of mine in real life.

Q. Ah I remember Irishman Stables, not seen around the track recently! How have you found it since you been back with the opening races at MNR, after such long layoffs please?

It was really tough! Managed to knock the dust of a bunch that was the main thing, though i was hoping to get a win or a place (only managed to get 4th). Spinetingling, he has got a serious operation over there. He has a beautiful racing claiming breeding setup. I admire what he has done and have always tried to build a microcosmos of Spinetingling – you know the way he goes after the smaller titles; it keeps your horses in form. It also lets you know where to place them. I almost put the virtual bullet into a couple but I messed up the meters, so I will be giving them another shot before sending them to Busch Gardens! Lol

Yes Spinetingling is certainly dominating over there and doing a great job. I had a couple of races this season where I was sure I had it in the bag…. and he came and spoilt my party. Another question please, this one a tale of WHOA? Has there been a moment as a trainer when you have made a bad mistake as a result of being drunk?

Thank God I quit drinking years ago or there may have been lots of virtual bullets flying around the barn! But no there has never been that slaps your forehead moment of Damn why did I do that!!!

Seems to be just me that screws up horses hammered. Alright I am a genie in a bottle and can grant you this wish. If you could turn back time and purchase one horse at HRP who would it be?

MB’s whole stable please 🙂

Sorry mate you could only choose one horse (not the barn) so I cannot grant you your wish 🙁 Ok then so who is your favorite race horse all time?

Giacomo, was my grandpa’s name, won a lot of money on that horse!

Nice, lucky namesake. What would be your advice to new players joining the game to help them please?

In fact ask loads! And think of this game as long term, use the free tracks to learn the game. Lastly go big or go home!!!

I agree with the free tracks. Do you have any 2-Year-olds you are excited by?

Negdogs BTC is one I am excited about. Raced 11 races since back, trying get barn rot off some of them. Last raced 400/500 some even 600 days. The fact that there aged 6/7/ and 8 shows the bloodline still strong.

I see a lot of Dogs out there. Whenever I see a horse with Dogs in I am like holy ####, that’s one of my bloodlines and that’s pretty cool. Seen many in the past couple of weeks since I have been back.
It certainly is your brand stamp and easy identifiable. So, you have played at HRP for some time and I am sure you got a good understanding of the virtual gaming space clearly. What attracts you to Horse Racing Park then?

I really love the breeding aspect! My success on the track has not been great, I have won a few stakes races but yet the breeding aspect is the best. Grey horses were my favourite growing up and I figure if the colour of the horse is something then the other features in the horse are real also.

As a small barn it’s great to try get some of my better horses in the hands of the better stables to help prove my sires and get the breeder bonuses in. The bloodlines from Dogs Batchelor Party have served me well over the years.

Q. When I read your posts years ago about grey horses I would smile and thinking barking mad. Now I am beginning to think barking genius and you where undisputedly the first to call. You purchased Dogs Batchelor Party from Yahudi Stables, the breeder of none other than Charley Farley himself many years ago. Plans to retire him?

No way not when he still throwing out quality foals, there’s plenty of lead in his pencil.

Is he the oldest Sire this season throwing at foals this season? I wonder. What was your best moment at HRP please?

Best Moment as an owner was when Short Dog won the breeders’ cup. I wasn’t the owner of the horse I had sold it but Ii was the breeder and Sire owner so I got double pay out BC. That really helped put Dogs Batchelor Party on the map as a sire for real. He has had a few Stakes winners under his belt but that was like BOOOOOM! May have done #### on the track, but as a breeder I am here and think I got something.

Nice and if you got it flaunt it as they say 🙂 Do you subscribe to the SRF? If so, can you tell the readers exactly why?

Absolutely Kevo. I could not always afford it to start, but that’s how I funded my stable initially. Subscribe to SRF and the vouchers where a great incentive, in fact it’s a no brainer. I found it’s a great way to grow my stable.

I love the SRF and it encourages me to breed good horses as Ii enjoy reading about them in the Sim Racing Form. I just type Dogs.

Q. That is really good to hear, thank you Negdog.  You done some great radio broadcasts at HRP for roughly 5 years? Are there more plans to fill the airwaves with that smooth voice of yours Sir?

Yes I did them for around 7 years and now I am back and planning for more. Check out my Twitch.tv channel NegdogTV

Q. I most certainly will! Next big races you cover be sure to post in the forums and let me know please, I would love to hear your smooth commentary voice again and hang out. So, what are your goals for 2021 now that your back?

HRP goals are to get back on the track get racing and get more Dogs out there. I see new players hopefully that maybe have seen Negdogs foals wondering who I am and want them to know i am somebody and i am back. I never really left; horses were on auto train.

Pleased my bloodlines are displaying longevity genes, like i don’t think people give their horses enough life/ chance they shoot them to soon when young if not performing. There is so much to it 90 % of its ownership issues not the horse’s fault.

Q. I like it, a horse is for life not just for Christmas. If you could say one thing to HRP

A Take the covers back. It would bring up the market value of horses.

Q. Short and sweet, fair enough…  Recently read on the forum in Ask the Experts a verified stable getting a 1.11 Virgin worker on 5f Dirt (yikes). Makes you wonder what horses lurk on the unverified pool that new members often end up with. What do you think re Auto genes value being lowered now we can see confo/bloodlines say one day a year?

A Yes it would be nice to see some fresh bloodlines in the game, though who would want to buy an auto gene when you know you can breed faster ones.

Q. True, I get that not just from racing perspective but breeding. It would mean we could try to create new lines afresh! Imagine HRP wrote a series of races for Auto genes (Criteria) only after the special offer sale day to encourage stable further.

  A. That would be great and i see potential there. Sounds like fun.

Q. I would be interested to hear other players opinions. Is there a player you want to do a shout out to please and why Negdog? That’s an easy question. Lanfranco helped me out in the past and is a good friend of mine. Plus, people in HRP thought we were the same person so we always got a laugh out of that!

Q. Jump Season in the winter at HRP. Looney/Mo Mentum farms both liked the idea. What are your thoughts? 40 horses uphill downhill left right all over the place and jumping, hell yee Kevo I love it. Plus, a fat purse at the end.

Do think some of our thoroughbred horses would break down half way though. Our horses are bred like Nascar to only go left, at full speed the like left turns lol.

I like Nascar analogy. Any closing statement or anything you would like to bark out? It’s really great to be back. As you can see new stables, my barks bigger than my bite. If i can help let me know and lastly…. let’s make Odessa great again! Woof Woof!

Bonkers to the last and I for one love it! Once again Negdog thanks for taking the time to speak with me today on behalf of the SRF. Like to wish you a cracking season, and I look forward to catching up with you soon.

On the subject of dogs… He is hot stuff, the talk of the town and one heck of a breeder! Next week I have managed to secure another exclusive SRF interview this time with Jive Stables. Breeder of ‘Howl of The Hounds’ and many other classy beasts!
