    There was a keyed factor in this GP turf mile SSM F/M Turf for the ladies. 

    Malettos star in the barn is Poetic Panther. Her speed was too much for these mares to handle, as she wired the field in a gracious fashion. The class mare Pineal Gland, coming off of sprints couldn’t match Poetic Panthers graded stake level. The rest of the field was way back early at this point waiting for Poetic Panther to stop.  Picking up some pieces was Class Four which ran second. Phills Filly ran third. 

   After the trophy presentation, I interviewed the trainer of Poetic Panther. His response was, “Poetic Panther is a very tough filly which always runs hard. Her numbers were off today, yet still showed class. I’m thinking of running her right back in the Pegasus F&M Turf – Grade III.
