SUN Race #3 $100.000

NM-Bred 3YO Filliess  120 Lbs (plus penalties) 6 Furlongs

Course Record-1:08.63 (Play Along-2022)

Stakes Record-1:09.65 (Cream Soda-2020)

#1 Swift Way (Bears Stable/K. Purcell 120): Broke her maiden last out at ZIA against NM-bred fillies.  Jumps right into the deeper water here, but she’s drawn well and last work was her best yet.  Appears the stronger half of the barn’s two runners.

#2 Lady In Red (Bears Stable/M.T. Fuentes Jr 120): Stablemate to the rail horse, broke her maiden two-back in a similar spot.  Faced winners last month, but that was open company and going long.  Rallied from well back that day, but she has tactical speed on her page as well.

#3 Cassius Clay (Mb Stables/K.S. Tohill 120): One of only two here with more than a maiden win, she makes her fourth attempt against black-type company.  Couldn’t finish better than 5th in her first three attempts, but she certainly has some early foot.

#4 Newry Jewelry (T Boy Racing/A.J. Suarez Jr 120): Broke her maiden in mid-November but couldn’t beat winners two weeks later.  Returns in this logical spot and looks to have the wheels to stay close early.  Latest breeze says she’s ready.

#5 South Vancouver (Axeman/E.P. Gomez 120): Broke her maiden for a $20.000 tag against state-bred runners before besting open company, N2L $14.000 claimers at GP.  Water is deeper here, but only one rival canmatch her two wins.

#6 Muffin Pie Bread (Wood Duck Stables/L.A. Fuentes 120): A winner on her July debut at FP, she was sold for $45.000 in October.  Returns in this spot after six months on the shelf following a steady stream of strong breezes, and the trainer has a knack for getting them to fire fresh.

Final Analysis: We’ll call it 1-6-3 but that isn’t the strongest of opinions.  Good luck to everyone in the La Senora Stakes!
