La Terrifiant Drops into The SSM F/M Turf Sprint for Year Starter

The SSM F/M Turf Sprint – NG
1/16/21
SA Race 5 6F – Turf
Purse $150.000
Four Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares CA Breds

Only a field of five has been entered up for this years running of the Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Turf Sprint here at Santa Anita. There was already a scratch so lets take a look at the five that are remaining in the field.

1. Resistant (13-7-2-2 $128.250), trained by T Boy Racing

First up in the field here and this is my filly and I got really lucky in buying her. I switched her over to the turf when I got her and she has ran very well for me so far. If she gets a good trip I think she could get something done here and possibly win.

2. Win For Red (13-2-5-0 $109.340), trained by Spankys Barn

Next up in the field is a filly and she is coming off of a nice win in a first level allowance right here at Santa Anita. She should have a very good chance to win this race. She should be one of the tough ones in this race.

3. Meadowbrook Lane (8-2-3-1 $73.220), trained by Ace Racing Stable

Scratched

4. Grand Cyclone (11-4-2-0 $348.440), trained by Maxmillion Farm

Moving onto this mare here and she is coming into this race off of a graded stakes win at Churchill in the Falls City Handicap. She is shortening up to a sprint and going back to the grass but she does have a win sprinting on the grass. She should be tough in here.

5. Golddigger (7-3-2-0 $146.460), trained by Team 7 Illusions

Now up to this lightly raced filly here and she is coming into this race off of a first level allowance win back at Del Mar going a mile. She is a pretty nice filly but I do think that she might be better going a route of ground it seems.

6. La Terrifiant (32-12-5-5 $5517.000), trained by Smokey Stover

The old champion mare right here and Smokey has dropped her in here in this little non-graded stakes race. She is better going a route of ground I think but her backclass and talent should be better than all of these. She is the one to beat.

Summary

Well obviously the first four horses we looked at in this field are pretty evenly matched but then you go down to La Terrifiant who is obviously the one to beat in this field. Good luck to all in the field right here.
