Lady Sammyantha Wires the Field in Bison City Stakes

Get in front, improve position from there… it used to be one of my dad’s favorite lines in horse racing and Lady Sammyantha put that advice to action in Saturday’s Bison City Stakes for three year old CA-bred fillies.  The Sidley Stud home-bread broke alertly, and just cruised around the WO Main track, getting the mile and a sixteenth distance in 1:41.61, and taking the win by a length.  Sarcastic tracked the winner but never could get near her, settling for the runner-up spot, a neck better than Mercantile in third.  Mayflower was another half length back in fourth.

Lady Sammyantha is a 3yo bay filly by Ginger Haggis – Madame Broulard, by Condottieri, and she was bred in ONT by her owner, The Sidley Stud.  This was her fourth win from sixteen starts, three of those coming this season, and she now shows lifetime earnings of $428.380.  Congrats to the connections!

Lady Sammyantha broke alertly, set the pace throughout, won without a challenge.  Sarcastic tracked the pace, never threatened winner, second best.  Mercantile rated back well off of the pace, swung widest for the drive, some late interest.  Mayflower rated, evenly.  Sensual Eruption tracked the pace, tired.  Julliard raced mid-pack to the far turn, tired.
