                         Three Year Olds Fillies

A tough field of fillies lining up in this race. Some proven runners and a recent maiden winner will try to add a stakes win to their resume. The favorite will most likely be last year’s FL Sire Series My Dear winner Lake Wendigo with the rivals she faced that day who are going to try and take her down this time.

1. Great Stride (2-1-1-0 $19.030), trained by Recency

This lightly raced filly has done no wrong in two career starts with a second in her debut and a win in her only route race. She’s coming in here off of a lengthy layoff in which we haven’t seen her since October of last year. She’s changed trainers three times in last month so she’s a big question mark coming into the race.

2. Queen Of The Freaks (10-1-3-0 $72.030), trained by Hawaiian Shirt Guy

After running second two back in the AZ Oaks she made her next start here at TAM. She ran fourth that day getting beat three lengths in a fourth place finish. With her works slowing down every time since February it’s a question how good she is at the moment but if she is still at her best she could pick up some pieces.

3. Lake Wendigo (6-2-3-1 $322.800), trained by Night Rider Stables

Easily the most accomplished and most consistent filly in the race she’ll most likely be the favorite. While this will be her first start for her new trainer I don’t think it will affect her that much. A good second last time in her time around two turns shows she can get distance and she will most likely be the favorite at post time.

4. Adjourned (7-1-1-0 $20.600), trained by Team 7 Illusions

After some stakes tries last year she finally broke her maiden in January here at TAM. After trying some graded stakes company she ran second last out in a FL bred allowance at GP. She’s shown she can get a route of ground but she’ll have to run a career best if she wants to flip the script on Lake Wendigo.

Summary

Lake Wendigo is the obvious standout in the race being six for six in the money and over $300.000 in earnings and coming into the race strong. The best chance to beat her in here is probably Adjourned but she is going to have to run a big race to win here as are the other two fillies that will line up in the gate Saturday.
