Lancashire Hotspot with a Big Win

The Las Cinegas Stakes – GIII
SA Race 6 6 1/2F – Turf
Purse $100.000
Four Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares

1st Lancashire Hotspot, trained by Blazin D

Well what a way to start trainers year off with a graded stakes win in his first day of action in 2019. This filly has really proven that she is becoming a very good horse with now her second stakes win in a row. She is obviously liking this sprinting on the turf and keeps improving. So he ran the race in 1:13.09 and earned $60.000 for the win.

2nd Moonlight Bliss, trained by Fractious

Good thing for this filly was that she ran a whole lot better than she did last time. She did end up in a dead heat for this second place spot. She came with a decent run from about mid pack and was closing late but just didn’t have enough steam in the tank to get to the wire first.

2nd Balais Bruit, trained by Drabfantasy

Well the old classy mare came with a run late but she just didn’t come fast enough to get the win. She was last early on in the race and then turned on the burners and started making up ground but just couldn’t get there in time. She did get up for a dead heat for second instead of getting third place though.

4th Smokin Nebulae, trained by Drabfantasy

The other mare from Drabfantasy had the opposite idea of her stablemate and tried to up close to the pace and win but she faded to this fourth spot. She was right there duking it out in the lead but just couldn’t keep going late and ended up fading to finish fourth and get beat by a length by the top three finishers.

Summary

This was definitely a very exciting race and I think it is safe to say that Lancashire Hotspot is starting to turn into a very nice filly and is starting to get to this graded stakes level. She ran a very big race and is proving to everyone that she is a nice filly. Congratulations to Lancashire Hotspot and Blazin D on the win.
