Le Terrifant Looks to Cap Off a Great Season

The Demoiselle – Grade II [KYO]
AQU   Race #3   1 1/8m   InDirt   Graded Stake
Purse $250.000  For Fillies Two Years Old.

1 Le Terrifant, trained by Jive Inc
The easy winner of the BC Juvenile on plain form alone she is the obvious choice. A great second when unsuited by the mud in the Frizette before her scintillating BC win this is the first chance we get to see whether the form is going to hold up this coming year or whether we are back to the same situation we had last year with a different winner of every big race. Her works arent the quickest but they werent pre BC either so this should not be a worry and with another inside draw she should be almost unbeatable.

2 Sprinkles, trained by Mb Stables
I am going to be saying this for the whole field as they all seem to work within a few tenths of each other but here’s one from our champion trainer who only has one lowly win in an FP maiden but is right in this on what she has done since and the times she is working. She got to the line really well in the Tempted last time but was out finished by Diminuendo and whilst that is pretty good form it doesnt really measure up to Le Terrifants BC win.

3 Blue Jeans, trained by First Class Stables
Got a horrible draw in the BC and was taken back to the trail on a day when most winners were coming from closer to the pace. She was only beaten five lengths in the end which was a lot better than it looked and if we go back to her huge finish in the Alcibiades she has the beating of a lot of her rivals today. If there is a chink in Le Terrifants armour then this could be the one to find it

4 Diminuendo, trained by Smokey Stover
Behind Blue Jeans in the Alcibiades she beat Sprinkles fair and square in the Tempted so must be right in the race here. She will stay every yard of this trip and is working pretty well so a top four finish from a decent draw looks on the cards.

5 Sweeping Slew, trained by Toppedout
Whereas Blue Jeans took option B in the BC race this one took option A from the wide draw and was kicked into the lead. I am not sure she can see this trip out at this level as i have yet to see her finish a race off over a route trip but maybe a change of tactics will help her here as they plainly failed in the BC. She has four placings at graded stakes level making her one of the most experienced runners in the field i am just not convinced this is her best trip, but then this is a game for gamers and maybe a change of instructions can change that.

6 Eastern Diamondback, trained by Barcelona Farms
She has notched up two decent wins at overnight level since being bought for just ten dollars, she clearly has ability and will love this trip but is facing a classy field of juveniles today.

8 Light From Above, trained by D J C Racing Stables
Tried to make all from the wide draw in the Tempted and of course weakened, as is the HRP way. She ended up fourth which wasnt too bad but was beaten by two of todays runners so will find it hard to reverse that placing from another awkward draw.

9 On The Square, trained by Crocker Cgs
The stables two entries get the two wide draws which seems pretty unfair but both are nice sorts and if they get some luck one of them may get into the money. This ones mile work was pretty good on the 25th Nov so i guess it just depends which of the two stable entries gets the best instructions to cope with the draw.

10 Still Breathing, trained by Crocker Cgs
A similar chance to her stable mate she has only sprinted so far but has looked strong enough at the end of her races to suggest she could do well over a mile plus. Not sure she can win from this draw but i hope for the trainers sake one of their two entries gets something.

SUMMARY
If this was a real life race then the money would be piling on Le Terrifant. She won the BC very impressively and gets another nice draw today. So the race for the places looks like its between Blue Jeans, Diminuendo and Sprinkles but there arent any that look out of place in this race and any of them could sneak a place finish.
