Let’s Give Tellcharlieitsforyou The Wild Applause

The Wild Applause- $100.000 Purse
BEL- For Fillies Three Years Old
One Mile on the Turf
June 25, 2022

None of the horses in the Wild Applause had a resume that made them stand out over any of the other ones. It was a field of six hopefuls looking to advance their career. Tellcharlieitsforyou had hit the board in each of her six starts, and came out of an allowance with a higher purse than this race. She was among our choices, and can now use this victory as a stepping stone for bigger races over the summer and the fall. Her trainer is Nakamura Stables, who wins the race for the first time. That’s also true for jockey K Carmouche. Congratulations to them! The time of the victory was 1:33.72, a middle of the road time for the race, historically. Let’s take a look!

(1/4 Mile- :23.37)- We don’t usually see fields start in this manner, but early on the six fillies are lined up in single file fashion. Our two “tell’s” claim the first two spots, with Tell The Queen leading the way, a length ahead of her stablemate and eventual winner from Nakamura Stables, Tellcharlieitsforyou. Safe Dance, who’s odds were ridiculous, runs in third position for London Racing, and a length behind her, it’s Just As Sharp (Paradise Stable). Command All (TwinTowersRacing) is next in line, with Zedikiah (A.m. Stable) at the back.

(½ Mile- :46.70)- Down the backstretch, none of the top four break from the line and hold their positions in the line. Still, it’s Tell The Queen and Tellcharlieitsforyou telling the field the way they want to run, and Safe Dance running right behind them. Command All will not just stay in line, however, and moves to the outside of Just As Sharp, passing that one to move into fourth. Zedikiah is about four lengths behind those two.

(Top of Stretch, 1.8F To Go)- Tell The Queen leads the way around the turn, but begins to feel the pressure from her stablemate. Tellcharlieitsforyou would prepare to move to the outside of her midway into the turn, and by the time they hit the stretch, Nakamura and Nakamura were side by side at the front battling for the lead. Safe Dance did not lose any ground to them and threatened to light up the board in a big way with a strong stretch run. Command All and Just As Sharp were lacking response, and Zedikiah seemed to think she was out for a stroll.

(Finish- 1:33.72)- Early in the stretch, Tellcharlieitsforyou would take clear possession of the top spot and continued to run in good stride to fend off Safe Dance, to earn the victory. Safe Dance ran well all the way to the wire, but could never make up the length to Tellcharlieitsforyou that she was behind right from the start. She spoils the all-Nakamura exacta as Tell The Queen settles for third. Just As Sharp was a distant fourth, and then Command All. Eventually, Zedikiah got there as well.

About The Winner- Tellcharlieitsforyou, trained by Nakamura Stables and ridden to victory by K Carmouche, is a three year old filly by Telling Ya and is out of Girl For Charlie. She was bred as a yearling in California by Nakamura Stables, and they have been together throughout. Congratulations to the connections! The win is her third in seven starts, and her first stake win. Her career earnings are now $130.960.
