Lightning Fast Ladies in The Lightning City Stakes

It’s the ladies turn to get on the lawn and go sprinting so let’s run down the field for The Lightning City Stakes, going five furlongs on the TAM turf.  I have to believe that La Terrifiant will be the heavy odds-on favorite in this one.  The connections plunked down a pretty penny for the speedster mare and she’s been perfect for them, winning two stakes in two starts.  I’m not betting against her.  Z Laffy One has a big late kick and that could make her a serious factor today.  She is always in the frame and should be a solid backup on the exacta ticket.

Hard to say anything bad about this one… four wins last year and kicked off this season by taking the Las Ciengas Stakes (GIII) at SA.  Another one like that should put her right in the middle of this one as well.  The Green Card loves her.

   Aggravated Chick    Big Jd Racing    Alvarado R Jr   122   7/2

Three wins in a row, two to close our the 20 season and then won her 21 debut.  She was claimed for $18.000 in that last 20 race and won right away for the new connections.  This is a big step up in class but she knows how to get her nose on the wire.

Her last win came back in Aug when she took down Alw horses at MTH.  Switches from the dirt to the grass and picks a tough spot to see if this is the right call.  She’s a closer, so let’s see if she can pull off some magic.

Sold for the hefty sum of $1,751.000 after her third place finish in the BC FM Turf (GI) and has won both of her starts for the new barn including the Matriarch (GI) and the SSM FM Turf Sprint at SA.  She sure is hard to look past, isn’t she?

She’s been solid at the Alw level and has struggled against stakes company so this is a spot where she will need her best to get the job done or even be a factor.  She has some giddy-up, so her best could surprise them.

Another that has flashed some speed but will need her best to run with this group.  She showed that speed only to end up a tiring third over this strip last out while facing Alw types.  That probably won’t cut the mustard here.
