Liverpool Rocket Finally Beats the Draw in LA Futurity

LA Futurity – Grade I [KYD]
1 1/16 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $300.000 Open 2 Year Olds.

1st Liverpool Rocket, trained by Estero Farms
This horse finally beat the wide draw after two great tries from the car park. It was third time lucky today as he led at just an average pace and was never pressured and the writing was on the wall a fair way out. He hung on in the end by three quarters of a length for a deserved win. By a stallion that has been shot he isnt the best bred but he has a good motor and will be a great prospect for the new year for his popular trainer.

2nd Wicked Orange, trained by Allinthegate
Got a fair way back and rushed home this was a good effort by the gelding who came back to the sort of form that saw him second in the Champagne. Lots to look forward to for his trainer who will be patting himself on the back for taking this one to the knife after his poor run in the BC.

3rd Centrepiece, trained by Mb Stables
The winner of the Champagne and a close second in the BC Juvenile he understandably started favourite for this race and looked to be in the perfect spot before just whacking away for third. Its the end of a long season for the colt who may have needed a bit more time after his big run in the BC.

4th Tyreese, trained by Threshold
As usual got far too far back but was flying home at the end to snatch fourth. If he can sort out his cruising speed he is going to be a contender next year.
