Low Key Desires Beats the Handicapper in The Nobel Damsel Handicap

The Noble Damsel Handicap – Grade III
1 Mile Turf Stake Purse $200.000 Filly & Mare 3 Year Olds And Up.

1st Low Key Desires Aer Stables Beschizza A

This filly proved that even without weight for age the faster development of three year olds make them more than able to compete and beat the older horses even when giving them weight. Not only did she defy the handicapper she came from gate 8 another perceived disadvantage to score a fairly easy one length win. The fast early pace certainly helped her settle and it seems after the fabled “sell out’ i’m leaving” debacle the trainer has hit a purple patch of form. If this filly can find a spot in the BC she wouldnt be the worst in the field but it will be touch and go as she sits 20th on the list at the moment.

2nd Backwaters Maxmillion Farm Saez L

An honest effort from this filly as the fast pace played out perfectly for her as she was taken well off the early pace and drove through late. Going on her win over 12 furlongs in her only other graded stakes this effort would seem to suggest she needs a real test of stamina to bring out her best despite winning over six and a half furlongs earlier in the year.

3rd Agenda Mb Stables Lezcano J

The strong pace didnt suit this filly and she failed to quicken after laying up much closer to the speed that the two that beat her. Whacking away for third she too sits just outside the Bc qualifying but as she couldnt beat the three year old on level weights she wouldnt have a hope with the weight for age in the BC.

4th Scam Nakamura Stables Garcia Alan

Like the third horse was too close to the early pace which was pretty fast and found the finish run out of her by the end. A decent enough effort in her first graded stakes race and she should be there or there abouts in the long run.
