Lunar Blaze Turns Back the Clock for Historic Double in Kilroe Mile

Kilroe Mile – Grade I (P6)
1 Mile Turf Stake Purse $400.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.

1 Lunar Blaze John Henry Gaffalione T

This great old timer showed that despite not winning a race since this race last year he still has what it takes by doing an historic double. Atleast until the three year olds burst on the scene he once again leaps to the top of the turf tree and will no doubt once again be aimed at the BC Mile. In wathcing this fairly easy win its hard to see why he hadn’t won in his previous 8 runs since last year but i guess it was his turn again and he certainly ran the perfect race. A shot in the arm for all the veterans out there lets hope this seven year old can hold his form a bit longer this year.

4 Sunlander Estero Farms Tunon M

The inside gates had this race wrapped up today and i had a suspicion that this one would run a big race and he certainly did that. Closing hard he didnt look like getting to the winner but ran a great race considering the mile may have been a bit short for him. If the draws are kind to him he could pick up a decent race before the three year olds take over.

2 Pure Gifts Mb Stables Maldonado E

Ran close to the pace as usual and kept on gamely for third running another great race on the turf.

3 Edging In Nakamura Stables Gryder A T

Very nearly dead heated with Pure Gifts again running right upsides his rival but just missing out in third. He is certainly in career best form this year along with the trainer so there may be more left in the tank going forward.
