Marijane Goes Full “Rebel” To Take The Eatontown Stakes

6/18/22

3   MTH    The Eatontown Stakes (GIII)

$150.000      F&M 3YO&UP   1m  Turf       3yo 118lbs   Older 124lbs   +penalties

We nailed this one, and with a $13.50 exacta, I think everyone did!!  But the real story here is how the little guy felled the field… Marijane Racing Stable wins a graded race in just their twenty-first start as Rebel Girl, claimed from a race at TUP for just $3.000, takes The Eatontown Stakes (GIII) by a nose after stalking the pace throughout, and landing in the winner’s circle for the third time in four races for this small stable.  The final running time was 1:40.59 for the mile and a sixteenth stakes, over the firm MTH sod.  Zola closed from far back to narrowly take the second spot by a nose over The Great Enabler, who also showed a late turn of foot to make this one a photo finish.  Red Flags was fourth and pace-setter School Of Thought tired after setting the pace to the lane, before backing out of this one.

Rebel Girl is a 5yo chestnut mare by Rebel Commander – Pacific Grove, by Caught Red Hoofed, and she was bred by Tiratzo in Fla.  This was her seventh win from sixteen starts, five of those this season, and she now has lifetime earnings of $229.740.  Congrats to the Connections!

Rebel Girl 5yo ch. Mare – Owner: Marijane Racing Stab         Breeder:  Tiratzo (Fla)

Rebel Girl stalked the pace to the alf mile marker, moved up to take over, all out to the wire, won driving.  Zola rated off of the pace between horses, moved to 3p for the drive, just missed in a game effort.  The Great saved ground mid-pack, moved to 2p for the drive, good late effort, narrow miss.  Red Flags settled well off of the pace, no threat.  School Of Thought broke sharply to set the pace to the half mile pole, tired.
