Well, at least we had the winner in this one…  Figured The Storm, owned by Arindel, was expertly handled, riding the rail all the way around the oval, cut the corner on the field and flew home to take The Salvator Mile (GIII) by a length, getting the distance in 1:34.79 on the fast MTH main track.  Speter rated back off of the pace, swung widest of all and made a good late run to take the second sport, a neck in front of a dead-heat where his stable-mate Boardwalk ended on even terms with Angelsinheaven.

Figured The Storm is a 4yo chestnut gelding by Commanding The Storm – I Figured, by Pistol Whip, and he was bred in NJ by his owner, Arindel.  This was his eighth win from twenty-eight starts and he now has earnings of $368.050.  Congrats to the Connections!

Figured The Storm raced mid-pack along the rail, cut the corner advancing into the lane, continued on the rail, striking the front with a sixteenth to run, won driving.  Speter rated well off of the pace, swung widest of all for the drive, good late effort.  Boardwalk rated back off of the pace in hand, edged forward 3p into the lane, moved back to 2p due to traffic, good late foot ending on even terms for the show.  Angelsinheaven contested the pace 3p to the far turn, moved up to take over with three furlongs to run, overtaken late, dead-heat for third.  Milford Sound raced evenly throughout.  Country Model off a step slow, no factor.  Casper Point showed early speed, tired.  Man With A Plan contested the pace to the furlong marker, folded.  Get Set Gone was never involved.
