Matamata outran her 30-1 morning line odds and then some. You have to wonder why a filly with three first or second place graded finishes was such long odds, but it made no difference when the gates opened. She broke sharply and contested the lead the entire distance, holding off the hard charging Wavy Girl by a neck.

1 Matamata (Smokey Stover) Stalked the pace throughout and took control in the stretch.

2 Wavy Girl (Saratoga Stud) Came from off the pace to take second

3 Starting Over (TwinTowersRacing) Big run late to get third.

4 Pink Attack (The Sidley Stud) Stalked, led at two calls, faded to fourth.

5 Present Tense (Mb Stables) Came from far back to get fifth.

6 Shining Moments (RNP Stables) Last to sixth.

7 Scarlett Dream (Arindel) Lost ground late to finish seventh.

8 Jinxed Artist (Smokey Stover) Made a run mid-race but could do no better than eighth.

9 Snake Island (Night Mare Racing), 10 Celine (D J C Racing Stables), 11 Retrospect (Mb Stables), 12 Ask ForfreeDelivery (Arindel), 13 Drink Me Pretty (Mb Stables), 14 Yow (Royalty Stables).
