Maxmillion Believes in Chrystals Again

LA Futurity – Grade I [KYD]
1 1/16 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $300.000 Open 2 Year Olds.

1st Chrystal Believer Maxmillion Farm Albarado R J

With just five lengths between first and last this race looked very similar to many other two year old races this year including the BC Juvenile. In the BC this colt was drawn wide and ended up in front and wide and predictably weakened into seventh. Today again drawn wide he managed to slot in behind the leaders and come through for a game neck win. It sometimes feels the only difference between these horse is the sort of trip they get but if anyone deserved some luck it was this one who had been close up in four of the best form races so far this season.

2nd Golden Boy D J C Racing Stables Velazquez J R

Another that ran in the Bc Juvenile he ended up eighth after trying hard early on but today was hauled to the back and flew home for second. There is no doubt that an extra few yards would have seen him win but thats the way things go and today wasnt to be his day. Having said that he has now run creditably in three grade ones in a row and will go into the Winter as a stable hope for the KYD.

3rd King Niagra John Henry Desormeaux K J

Finished well for a very close third but didnt have the rabbit to help today as he did in the Grey Stakes last time. The new owner will be pretty pleased with this effort though and he certainly looks the type to stay every yard of the KYD if he can get in.

4th Red Cup Our Athletes Van Dyke D

Finished in front of the first two in the BC Juvenile but couldn’t do it again today keeping on for fourth in what looked like a performance that screamed he needed a little break.
