Runhappy – Grade III
6 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $150.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.
1st Final Verse Mb Stables Court J K
As i just wrote for the Man O War the key to this game is sometimes to just keep entering good horses in good races and eventually they will win. This is another good example as despite 8 attempts at graded stakes before this this was the first time he managed to win one. Getting a perfect trip he extended nicely for an easy win albeit by only a length. Will it be 8 more before he wins another one, well only time and patience will tell us that.
2nd Kiss The Snake Nakamura Stables Beschizza A
It would take the Nak Factor to get this horse back to somewhere near his best from the wide draw and sure enough the old fella did his best. Will he ever recapture the form that saw him win two grade ones and finish fourth in the BC last year? well this was a step back in the right direction and i sure he will get plenty more chances in the coming months.
3rd Pulpit D J C Racing Stables Bejarano R
Came on strong at the end and with this effort and the Man O War maybe its time for DJC Racing Stables to come in from the cold. After a spell over longer trips i think this effort may convince his owner to stick to sprints from now on.
4th Sonar Threshold Davis D
This horse only runs on horse lead and that’s how he has run all his best races. However an outside gate and horse lead can only mean one thing and sure enough that’s what happened. The race engine sacrificed him as the front runner and sure enough he weakened into fourth. We may see him back to his best when he is given his chance by the draw.
