Mb Maps the Perfect Tactics in The Razorback Handicap

The Razorback Handicap – Grade III
1 1/16 Mile Dirt Stake Purse $500.000 Open 4 Year Olds And Up.

1st Shake, trained by Mb Stables
It was always a question of which of the two stable runners would be sacrificed to the wide gate speed and in the end it was this one that benefitted. Taken back whilst his stable mate cut out a fast pace he cruised through for a very easy two length win in the end yet another victory for the multiple runners tactic. Whether this was a cleverly instrumented performance or not the horse itself is a very nice sort and with a lenient handicap mark thanks to the top weights being scratched he always looked a strong chance. I would imagine there is more to come from this four year old bred by Team 7 Illusions.

2nd Copper Beast, trained by Night Rider Stables
This was a little bit better from the formerly very smart five year old staying on nicely but having no answer to the winners finish. He still looks a little expensive at $350 but if this is a sign he is on his way back he may yet prove that tag to be reasonable.

3rd American Ideal, trained by Nakamura Stables
Was taken back with the eventual winner but didnt finish quite as well though this was a good first attempt at graded company. There is a good win in this one as he has plenty of ability and his consistency will be an advantage going forward.

4th Evil Position, trained by Maxmillion Farm
Stayed on well but may have found them a bit quick over this trip and will be better the further he goes.
