Nailed that exacta… which is nice.  Groovy just adds another win to his record and makes BC Day decisions that much harder for Mb Stables as the 3yo gelding stayed close to the pace and powered home to win by a half length, taking The JC Gold Cup (GI) in a final time of 2:00⁴ for the classic mile and a quarter distance.  The main track at BEL was labeled fast.  Space Commander closed from way back but had to settle for the second spot, a half length in front of Bellamango with A Storm Has Arrived another neck back in fourth.  There were only four lengths separating the field in this one and the winner has his ticket stamped for BC Day.    

Groovy is a bay 3yo gelded son of Marry Me Mandy – She Needsa Brazilian, by Condottieri, and he was bred in  LA by Jive Inc.  Sold privately back in Oct of last year for $100.000, he now has earnings of $1,005.440 showing four wins from his fourteen starts.  Will we see this one in the Classic or does the big stable have other ideas?
