Weather caused a lot of scratches at BEL on Saturday, but not in this one… they were happy to run in the Runhappy (GIII) and in the end, Mb Stables was the happiest as Dont Worry Be Jolly got home in front by two lengths in a final time of 1:09.24 for the six furlongs. Its a Laugher had the lead in the lane but just couldn’t hold off the winner, settling for second, a length in front of Bodemister in third.
Dont Worry Be Jolly is a 5yo bay gelding by Jolly Be Great – For Effect, by Square Edge and he ws bred in ON by Petterson Stables. Mb Stables purchased this one at the March 21 Auction, and he has two wins in the three starts since, he has six lifetime wins from twenty-three starts and now shows $207.760 in earnings.

Dont Worry Be Jolly broke in hand, rated back off of the lead, moved up on the turn, took over at the sixteenth pole, won driving. Its A Laugher sat just in behind the pace, 2p far turn, up to lead at the three sixteenths pole, headed, settled. Bodemister third flight early, lost ground into the far turn, closed well 3p, best foot too late. Oklahoma good early speed pressing the pace, flattened out late. Red Cup lacked early interest, some late foot while no factor. Gifted Man pressed the pace to the three-sixteenths pole, tired. Concan early speed, 5p into the far turn, tired. Korean Boyband sent from the gate to lead for two furlongs, headed, tired. Unfold early interest, tired. Doom was outrun. Mexican Swagger was never involved.
