My top selection, Fashionable, owned by Mb Stables, made Saturday’s Maple Leaf Stakes (GIII) into a laugher as the bay filly made every call a winning one, taking the mile and a quarter main track stakes by two widening lengths.  She covered the distance, run on the fast main WO

strip, in 2:01.49 and really was never challenged.  The second and third spots were controlled by stable-mates as The Sidley Stud’s Pink Attack took the place by a neck over Battle Abbey, with Tall And Fast missing out on the head-bob and settled for the fourth spot.

Fashionable is a 4yo bay filly by Grande Sournoise – Balais Bruit, by El Gran Broomstick, and she was bred in NY by Drabfantasy.  Acquired by Mb Stables via Private Purchase prior to her racing career, this was her eighth lifetime win, and she now has lifetime earnings of $839.280.  Three of those wins have come this season, two of them graded stakes.  Congrats to the connections!

Fashionable broke alertly, set the pace throughout, clear late.  Pink Attack just in behind the pace, fanned 4p for the drive, second best.  Battle Abbey just in behind the early pace, tracked the leader fanning widest for the drive, evenly in the lane.  Tall And Fast was never a threat.  Exultant Gal was never involved.  Hello Hello trailed throughout.
